The New Orleans Saints started their three game road stretch on a good note today with a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It was a game where a majority of fans and analysts predicted the Saints would easily defeat the Jaguars. QB Drew Brees and Head Coach Sean Payton both wanted to start fast on offense and the Saints did just that with a quick touchdown.
It wasn’t all gravy for Brees(31-44, 351 yds., 1 TD) though as he once again threw two interceptions for the second game in a row. One of these came off a ball that bounced off the hands of WR Robert Meachem. No worries on Drew’s gameplay though.
TE Jimmy Graham continues to amaze with 10 receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown. The running back trio of Darren Sproles, Pierre Thomas, and Mark Ingram continue to roll nicely with Sproles making dynamic plays.
FB Jed Collins hit a milestone with his first NFL touchdown on a one yard carry that put the Saints on the board first in the game.
CB Patrick Robinson recorded his first NFL interception when he undercut a route. I have been critical of Robinson hoping he would step up. He did in a big way today with a tackle for a loss and the INT. His coverage skills also improved in this game. To WDD readers realheavyd and nolafan33, kudos to the “P. Rob. Fan Club!”
