Three New Orleans Saints players rank in the top ten sack leaders

Last week the New Orleans Saints defense racked up six sack on Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. It was a feast of sorts as defensive coordinator Gregg Williams brought multiple blitz packages from all angles with great results.

Chicago’s offensive line was suspect coming into the season after leading the league in total sacks given up last year with 52. Through two game this season they are on pace to break that number with 88 sacks unless a change is made.

New Orleans has three defensive players in the top ten for total sacks.

Roman Harper and Junior Galette are tied for 5th place in the league with 2.5 sacks each. Linebacker Jonathan Casillas is right behind them tied for 8th with 2 sacks. Harper is also tied for 34th in the NFL in total tackles with sixteen.

The players above Harper — Linebacker DeMarcus Ware (5), linebacker Terrell Suggs (3), defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins (3), and defensive end Jason Babin (3).
