A fourth player has been confirmed as being released by the New Orleans Saints and it’s quite a shocker.
DE Alex Brown confirmed via Twitter that the Saints have released him. The veteran was brought in last year after the Chicago Bears released him off their roster. Brown was drafted by the Bears out of Florida.
Brown played left defensive end and was expected to have a good year after the Saints made some key additions to their front defensive line. The move comes as a shock since most expected him to help lend a veteran hand to rookie DE Cameron Jordan.
It’s also a surprise since DE Will Smith is expected to be suspended for either 2-4 games in the Star Caps case. Having Brown still on the line would have lessened the blow. Nothing negative has been reported about Brown in training camp.
Brown’s wife Karimar and their children embraced New Orleans and were always present for games in the Superdome. They actually sat in out section and were always smiling and greeting people, with Karimar wearing her flashy custom made “Mrs. Brown” jersey.
I know Who Dat Nation wishes them the best of luck and is thankful for their contributions to the Saints organization and the fans. Karimar Brown stated on her Twitter, “gonna miss getting #crunk at the game” and “are very sad to leave”. Eventhough this is L.S.U. Tiger country, we’re sad to see these Gators go.
