It also appeared to me that the Saints might be moving on when I watched players begin to file out of the tunnel in the Superdome for the preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers.

I spied a player wearing the familiar #42 worn by Sharper the past two seasons.  Instead of Sharper though, S Isa Abdul-Quddus has been assigned Sharper’s old number.  While it’s just a number, this still doesn’t look promising for Sharper’s return.

Sharper seemed to not return to his style of play last season and was expected to regain his starting role when S Malcolm Jenkins was injured in the last regular season game.  His impact though was minimual in the Wild Card Playoff  loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

While nothing is set in stone yet, it looks like I may have worn my Sharper jersey for the last time.  Barring a major injury to Jenkins, fans have probably seen the Sharper Shake for the last time.
