The New Orleans Saints have opened up the preseason 1-0, defeating the San Francisco 49er with relative ease — although no thanks to their offense.
The 49ers public relations staff doled out some quotes from Alex Smith and others while the exhibition opener finished up against the host New Orleans Saints. Smith, understandably, wasn’t pleased with an outing that saw him complete 2-of-7 passes for 10 yards with two sacks
Tip-toeing along the sideline, Morgan then cut back to his right past punter Andy Lee and went untouched the final 20-plus yards into the end zone.
It’s not as though the 2010 season was a complete disaster for the Saints. They went 11-5 and made the playoffs. But they went out to Seattle for the first round of the postseason and got upset by a team that didn’t even have a winning record
