Saints Pro Bowl right tackle Jon Stinchcomb is coming off a injury plagued season, one where he dealt with knee and shoulder injuries, but the most serious injuiry was a torn tendon in his left quadricep.

To make things worse there was the NFL lockout, which didn’t allow players into their own facilities to rehab from injuries from the previous seasons.

He had to rely on his own ability to get back into football shape, which is what he did, he started rehabbing with Ron Courson, director of Sports Medicine at the University of Georgia.

Then when Drew Brees and Jonathan Vilma called for a players workout at Tulane University, Stinchcomb came down and went through the drill’s with his fellow linemen, as well as worked out with Troy Bourgeois at the Movement Science Center in Metairie.

Most of his teammates didn’t even realize how injured he really was, but fellow lineman Jahri Evans knew there was something wrong with his teammate, he just wasn’t himself.

Now Stinchcomb is back on the field, feeling great, he’s ahead of schedule on his rehab following offseason surgery to repair the torn tendon. Now 7 months later he has deemed himself completely healthy and ready to go.

Stinchcomb is knocking people off the line of scrimmage, he not only feels stronger, but his teammates can see the difference from last year to this year and he seems to be playing with a vengeance.

Quarterback Drew Brees was quoted saying, “Having Stinchcomb back healthy is a big deal, he’s a leader on our offense and is the main cog on our offensive line, he keep those guys together, motivated to be the best.”

A lot of players are out of the lineup weekly, due to lesser injuries than what  Stinchcomb played through the entire season last year, yet he didn’t miss a beat.

THAT SAYS A LOT ABOUT WHAT KIND OF MENTALITY THAT STINCHCOMB, OUR OFFENSIVE LINE AND THE SAINTS TEAM AS A WHOLE ARE ALL ABOUT…
