The New Orleans Saints have a new addition to the defensive line as well as a loss. They also appear to keep adding on to the defensive and offensive weapons available to them.
The New Orleans Saints have all their draft picks locked in now after numerous sources are reporting that first round draft pick DE Cameron Jordan agreed to terms earlier today.
Many in Who Dat Nation were beginning to get anxious since the Saints other first round pick, RB Mark Ingram, had signed a few days ago.
It seems now that a deal was probably close a few days ago by a move that Head Coach Sean Payton made the other day. The players were scheduled to practice today and be off Wednesday.
However, at the last minute, Payton switched the two days and the players were off today with a return to practice tomorrow.
It’s just a theory of mine, but I think the Saints knew that signing Jordan was close and the day would have been a waste. Jordan signed right towards what would have been the end of practice and wouldn’t bave been able to participate. Plus, he would have lost another day with the day off tomorrow.
Now with the players returning tomorrow, Jordan gets to have his first full practice and no more time is wasted. Jordan has already missed almost a full week of practice. One thing for sure, Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams will have a “Welcome To Training Camp” moment planned for Jordan!
