In the wake of trading Reggie Bush to the Dolphins, the Saints appear to be making strides in replacing him, with free agent running back Darren Sproles.
The Saints, Chargers, and Eagles appear to be going after Sproles.
Sproles could fill some of Reggie Bush’s former roles, including returning punts and providing the Saints offense with a small, but fast and dynamic playmaker, especially in the air.
Arguably, Sproles could even be better than Bush in some of those areas, and Sproles has played in all 16 regular season games over the past three years.
Sproles could also be used to upgrade the Saints kick return game, where he has averaged 25.1 yards per return over his career.
Sproles has spent his entire 6-year career with the Chargers.
