Drew Brees has been as dynamic a quarterback as there is in the NFL since being signed as a free agent by the Saints prior to the 2006 season. Head coach Sean Payton got the right man for the job, and the rest as they say is history.
In five seasons as a Saint Brees has thrown for 22,918 yards and 155 touchdowns. Impressive numbers by any standard, and better then quarterbacks Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, who where both ranked ahead of him recently on the “NFL Top 100 Players of 2011″ list.
Factor in his average yearly quarterback rating of 96.46 and his completion percentage of 67%, and it’s clear why the Saints success starts and ends with Brees.
If Brees ever were to go down and be forced to miss any time, could the Saints survive with the quality of the talent they have assembled behind him?
