It was the single biggest event in the history of New Orleans. That’s saying something for a city which has hosted numerous Super Bowls, Final Fours, BCS Championships and even world championship boxing.
This event was different. This was for people of New Orleans, of Louisiana, of the Gulfcoast region, of-every die-hard Saints fan in the world no matter where they reside.
For the second time in 3 years the New Orleans Saints were in the NFC title game but this time was different, way different. This time the Saints hosted it for the very first time.
All through the 2009 season the Saints were the hottest team in the NFC. The set an NFC record going 13-0. Then Dallas came into the Superdome on a Saturday night and ruined their PERFECT season.
Most fans were devastated, others optimistic, still looking at the big picture.
I remembered leaving the Dome so mad and furious for a while and rightfully so because Perfection was a big deal, matter what anyone says.
