I know what y’all are thinking, where’s #2?  That will come , but I feel that this game has to be in the top 5 somehow for various reasons.

The reason this game had to be on this list is because the saints clinched their very first NFC championship game by winning this game.

Also if you remember right, of seattle would have won the next day in Chicago then the Saints would’ve hosted the NFC championship.

Coming off the 2005 Katrina season the saints had a new look with a new coach and QB. With fans not known what to expect in 2006 everyone was at an all time high with their beloved New Orleans Saints.

They hadn’t moved to SanAntonio and where in first place in their division all year long and won the division. They clinched the #2 seed in the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

After the wildcard weekend in the NFL playoffs it was determined that the Philadelphia Eagles were coming into the rowdy Superdome for the divisional round.

Earlier in the year the Eagles came to New Orleans and were defeated by the  Saints 27-24 on a last second John carney field goal.
