Prince Amukamara – CB Nebraska
Patrick Peterson will be gone before the 49ers pick. Amukamara will be an upgrade to the secondary which will allow Patrick Willis and Co. to get to the QB. Amukamara has great size for a corner and may make a transition to Safety.

Blaine Gabbert – QB Missouri
Blaine Gabbert has the perfect size for an NFL QB. At 6’6″ 235, he ran a 4.62 40 time. Gabbert is very agile. He moves well outside the pocket and extends plays well.

Tyron Smith- OT- USC
The Cowboys strongly need offensive line help if they want Tony Romo to play 16 games. The Cowboys have many playmakers on offensive. Smith will give Romo time to get them the ball.

Cam Newton – QB Auburn
I don’t like the idea of Newton being drafted in the first round, but I feel Washington will select him with the No. 10 pick and deal McNabb to either Arizona or Minnesota.

Akeem Ayers – LB UCLA
The Texans’ Mario Williams, Demeco Ryans and Brian Cushing could use some defensive help. With the No. 11 pick, the Texans could acquire a great defensive player like Ayers and instantly have a top 10 defense. However, the Texans will need to go after secondary help in the later rounds to have a balanced defensive attack.

bowers number 1? really? browns also switching to 4-3

Wow. No offense, but that is one of the worst mocks I have ever seen.

Bowers will not go #1. He will go 10-15 picks lower than that. Too much risk.

Also, the Broncos are switching to a 4-3 and they have no D-lineman to run it. They will not pass on Dareus at #2.

It doesn’t look like you’ve updated your player rankings in the last 2 months.

I don’t think Bowers will go No. 1 either, I believe Cam Newton will. I made this Mock as if I were the GM for each team. And I think Bowers will be as successful as Mario Williams and Julius Peppers (I have a man crush on him). And the Broncos may take Dareus No. 2, I agree. Many draft analysts have him, behind Patrick Peterson, as the best player in the draft. But Patrick Peterson is a rare talent that will be able to help right away in many facets of the game, defense and special teams.

Also, absolutely no way Jacksonville takes Ryan Mallet. If you haven’t noticed since GM Gene Smith took over in 2009, they only draft squeeky clean players with high-character only. If you are not a senior, 3 year starter, and a team-elected captain then you are not even on Jacksonville’s draft board.

Gene Smith wouldn’t draft Mallet in the 6th round.

    • Keith Null

I wouldn’t say that Mallet is not an option for the Jags, and I hear you when it comes to their draft philosophy under Gene Smith. Bottom line is David Garrard is not the answer, and in this league you must have a viable franchise quarterback to be successful. Mallet may have so called “character concerns” but he has the biggest arm in the draft and is considered the most pro ready. It’a a tough call but I think they would be willing to talk about come draft day.
