The NFL dished out thirty-two compensatory picks today to twenty-three total teams for the upcoming draft. The idea is to award these extra picks to teams who lost free agents last season.

Not every free agent lost will necessarily equal a pick rather it’s decided by a complicated formula that considers that players salary, playing time and postseason honors.

The biggest winner of the compensatory picks was the Carolina Panthers who after losing Julius Peppers and AJ Feely last year received three total picks, a third, sixth andseventh round selection.

A handful of other teams were awarded two picks including the Ravens, Giants, Titans, Vikings and Chargers. The complete list is as follows.
