The Saints are usually a team that like to play their cards close the chest when it comes to whom they are targeting in the draft. They are also notorious for going against the grain and the obvious pick to take the best player available regardless of what they may need at a given positions.
Draft experts say the Saints must take a defensive lineman or outside linebacker with the 24th pick they currently hold in the upcoming draft. Then again with twenty-five free agents to contend with every positions could seemingly be a target.
Reports surfaced a few days ago that the Saints will workout Oklahoma State running back Kendall Hunter in the coming weeks, a projected late first or early second round pick. It’s a move that makes sense considering the team track record with injury at the position.
The Nationa Football Post is now reporting that Texas cornerback Curtis Brown will meet with the Saints and the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Cleveland Browns.
Brown doesn’t immediately stand out as a potential no brainer pick for the Saints and if they end up taking a secondary player in the top half of the draft again this year they may be facing a mutiny from their dedicated fan base throughout Who Dat Nation.
