New Orleans Saints: CB Danny Gorrer Re-Claimed From Rams

Corner back Danny Gorrer was re-claimed off waivers from the St. Louis Rams today and will join the Saints just in time for their upcoming training camp July 29th.

Gorrer was signed last season as undrafted rookier free agent out of Texas A&M by the Saints. He spent the entire off-season with the team faring well but was signed to the practice squad before the start of the 2009-2010 season

He was then signed by the Rams off the Saints practice squad in November of last year.

Gorrer made his first NFL start the following month when the Rams played the Arizona Cardinals nearly picking off a Kurt Warner pass while totaling four tackles and one pass deflection.

At 6’0 185 pounds Gorrer is not a very big corner and could struggle with bigger receivers in man coverage.

However he has all the physical tools to play well at the NFL level and could develop into a good nickel corner for the Saints so expect him to push Randall Gay and Leigh Torrence for the fourth or fifth corner spot in training camp.
