It has finally happened Saints fans, after 43 years as an NFL franchise the Saints are the new NFC Champions and are now headed to Super Bowl XLIV to face the Indianapolis Colts.

After the trials, tribulations, the ups, the downs, the good times, the bad times, the winning seasons, the losing seasons, the bags on our heads,  we have now been validated because we are the Aint’s no more.

We are the NFC Champs!!

New Orleans faced down the Vikings and never has it been so apparent a team was destined for greatness after the Saints surrendered 475 total yards to the Vikings but still won the game  by forcing six turnovers and two interceptions including the pick in their own red zone late in the fourth quarter as the Vikings were threatening to score which forced overtime.

The Saints won the coin toss and elected to receive, a series of plays later, accompanied by booth challenges and penalty flags, the Saints faced a fourth and three at the Minnesota twenty-two yard line.

From there young Saints kicker Garrett Hartley lined up for the forty yard field goal which he nailed dead to rights, just like that the Saints are headed to Miami as the NFC representative at Super Bowl XLIV.

Hate to say I told you so but I told you so!

Take this time and  enjoy it Saints fans, relish in the moment so you can take this feeling to work with you Monday to tell all the doubters who mocked you for being a Saints fan, “Who’s going to the Super Bowl?”, and you can finally answer the Saints.

Tonight is a night of celebration so we don’t intend to go into detail about the game, catch us later for that but in the meantime we are going to celebrate.

WHO DAT SAY THEY GONNA BEAT THEM SAINTS, WHO DAT, WHO DAT, WHO DAT SAY THEY GONNA BEAT THEM SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Otho (Jan. 29, 2010 @10:05 p.m.):

What was that in the second paragraph again?...LOL

I'm interested in using some of your material for my website. Please let me know if that's OK and I will link back to this page.

Congrats to you guys on your 1st Super Bowl berth, and for beating Favre, which is always a treat. As a Pats fan, I hope you maul Manning in Miami!

congrats to the saints they deserve it!

Congratulations, Saints fans. I can sincerely say that we in Indianapolis are happy for you and your team. If we weren't playing you, we would surely be rooting for you.

Having said that, my advice is to brace yourself for disappointment, and console yourselves with your team's many accomplishments. Your team simply does not have the defense to stop Peyton Manning. There are too many championship receivers for him to pass to. Also, the Colts have been there and done that.

Warm regards

It's time. For the Super Bowl--- SAINTS 41 COLTS 30 OR SAINTS 37 COLTS 28.

Congrats to the Saints and it's extremely loyal fanbase! A well earned, and much deserved Super Bowl appearance...I'll be rooting for my division rival Saints on SB Sunday! Geaux Saints!

Geaux Saints!! Finally you made it no get out there and buy some super bowl tickets
