WR Chris Henry Wants to Play For Saints
Former Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry has stated today that he would like to play for either the Saints or the Cowboys.
“There are two teams that I would always love to play for: That’s New Orleans and Dallas,” Henry said. “New Orleans is home for me. That’s always been a big dream of mine. Hopefully I can get in there and sit down with the coaches and maybe have an opportunity to get down there. And Dallas is another team that I’ve always looked up to as a kid and wanted to play for them.”
The oft-troubled Henry is not guaranteed to be allowed to play this season following his latest arrest for misdemeanor charges of assault. I find this situation fairly intriguing for the Saints. Henry no doubt has a ton of talent and ability but the concerns are obvious. The Saints have solid leadership on the team and I think giving a young kid like Henry another chance wouldn’t be all that bad. The team already has solid depth at wide receiver so bringing him into camp, awaiting word from Roger Goodell on whether he can play, may be a solid low-risk high-reward move. The team would definitely take a public relations hit but just maybe this kid can take control of his life and produce like he is capable of.
