Pete Prisco, of CBSSports.com, is reporting that the Saints are using pro-bowl LT Jammal Brown as bait for a chance to move up and select LSU DT Glenn Dorsey. Wow. Brown, the 13th overall pick in 2005, has blocked Drew Brees‘ blindside remarkably the past two seasons.
This seems mind-boggling. Brown has had a history of knee injuries but has played great, although his play slipped slightly last season. The Saints must be high on a pair of recent tackles taken the past few seasons, Jermon Bushrod and Zach Strief, to consider such a move.
The Saints front office definitely has Dorsey on top of their board and are trying the best to acquire him. The Rams could start Brown on their right side (where he played his rookie season) and to eventually replace Orlando Pace. The draft hot stove is heating up and the Saints are right in the middle of it.
